Quinqueloculina seminulum and Quinqueloculina agglutinans are two members of the Tubothalamea family of the foraminifera. The first has a wall made of calcium carbonate and the second has a proteinaceous wall embedded with mineral particles (hence it is "agglutinated"). The wall of each foram is semi-transparent and inside the living versions the cytoplasm appears pink or orange due to the presence of algal symbionts.
