The reticulose amoebae illustrated in the movies here are benthic marine organisms and are in either of the clades Filosa or Endomyxa in the Eukaryote Tree of Life

Left: Network pseudopodia of a foraminiferan; the processes continuously extend, retract, branch and fuse. Right: At the same magnification are the "Fast Network” pseudopodia of a reticulose amoeba which possess some of the features of the foraminiferan network but are finer and less lively.

Same type of reticulose amoeba as previous. Left: A diatom (Gyrosigma fasciola) is caught by a pseudopod. Right: Inclusions in the highly mobile cell body.

Reticulose amoebae with cell bodies that are extensions of the network pseudopodia

Left: A cell body and processes emerging from a tectum (time-lapse movie). Right: processes emerging from a large, rounded cell body

Undulating pseudopodia of loose networks

Processes like lace, emerging from a tectum
